In the late 1960′s Jackie Kennedy Onassis commissioned costume jewelry designer Kenneth Jay Lane to duplicate a necklace that Onassis had given her. The ONLY piece of jewelry he ever made by commission. They agreed that he wouldn’t charge her for the mold which is very expensive, if he could use it for his own collection and make copies. This is a picture of her necklace from his book, “FAKING IT”. It was then made in coral and turquoise colored stones. Fab in coral, wish I could see it in turquoise!
